If you go to a school where the majority of the kids don’t commute I’d try selling them on Craigslist.org.. I have had tons of friends sell them that way and just meet up with the person who wants to buy them.

I sell them on either Amazon or Ebay. To figure out which one will get you the most money first search the websites for the exact book you’ve got. For instance, last semester some of my books were selling used at eBay for cheaper than at Amazon.. all you do is put your books on the site that sells them for the most at for a dollar cheaper than any other one that is listed on that site and yours will most likely be bought before all the others.

Also, when you ship the books be sure to mail them using media mail, that way shipping will be really cheap, I’ve never shipped one for over $ 4.00!

Hope this helped!

        Selling college textbooks on AbeBooks?

Question by Alan: Selling college textbooks on AbeBooks?
Has anyone dealt with selling books to abebooks.com? They have this offer where they send you a check once they receive your textbook. They offered me $ 70.30 for my conceptual physics 11th edition textbook. Anyone who sold to them before want to give me some feedback on their experience? And would now be the best time to sell it? Or will waiting toward the start of school raise the price? Thanks!

I’ve never used that site. I always use the amazon textbook buyback option. They give you the page for shipping. So, all you have to do is package up the books and send then, no shipping rate. I’m not sure when the best time to sell would be but $ 70 sounds like a pretty good price. I’m not sure what you originally paid for the book but that seems like a lot of money.
