Question by Sharyce: Is going to school online to get a degree just as good as going to a college campus?
I’m trying to go to school, but I work a full time job so I’m thinking about getting my degree online. However, I’m not sure if employers honor a online degree just a much as a traditional college campus degree. So my question is pretty much are they basically the same?

If you go to a reputable, traditional college that also happens to offer online degrees, then employers will respect that. In fact, they may not even know that you did it online, because all you list on your resume is the college – University of Massachusetts at Amherst – not that you did it online.

But a lot of employers really dislike those for-profit, online programs that advertise a lot. I’d rather you avoided those, because some employers refuse to hire grads of such programs.

Check the colleges near you – including the community and public (state) colleges. A lot of them offer online degrees now. You can also look at the online programs offered by Penn State, UMass Amherst, Northeastern U, Florida State, U Illinois, Drexel U, and other reputable colleges.

Question by miss kiki: What do you think about online colleges? Are they as accredited as campus based schools?
I would like to know because I am considering enrolling in one. I am 20 yrs. old with two kids and I don’t have the means for child care. I felt online schooling would be the best option for me. What do you think?

check www.ed.gov to find out if the school you want to go to is accredited. I am going to University of Phoenix, and I haven’t had a problem.

While the degree won’t stand up next to a Harvard or Yale degree, it is still much better than no degree at all.

A spectacular array of blossoming fresias, crocuses, hyacinths, narcissi, irises, lilies and tulips provide an early glimpse of spring at Smith College’s Lyman Conservatory in Northampton, Massachusetts for two weeks from March 7 through March 22.
Smith’s spring bulb show is a long-standing tradition of Smith College’s Botanic Garden, dating back more than 75 years.
It’s quite a scientific feat to force thousands of bulbs to bloom in unison weeks before their outdoor counterparts dare end their hibernation. Ordinarily blooming at different times, some 5,000 bulbs are coaxed into a simultaneous blooming beginning in October when Smith horticulture students pot them up and put them into cold storage. Starting in January, the bulbs are transferred to the greenhouses and, with careful timing and temperature control, are ready for their colorful debut in March.

Honestly no, employers do not enjoy reading that you graduate over the internet. Though, it still is a feasible option.
